Melanoma brain metastases
The CyberKnife® device allows frameless radiosurgery of melanoma lesions in the brain, with sub-millimeter precision, comparable to that of the Gamma Knife® radiosurgery platform for single fraction radiosurgery treatments. Unlike the Gamma Knife, which is limited to a single large radiosurgical dose, the CyberKnife® also has the added flexibility of allowing multiple smaller radiosurgical treatments instead of a single large one, which increases the safety when targeting lesions that reside in immediate proximity to critical structures, such as the brainstem or optic apparatus.
